SUMMARY:Advances in Veterinary Pharmacology\, Toxicology\, and 3R Methods
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:The 34th VETPHARM Symposium is a recognized scientific meeting
in the field of veterinary pharmacology and toxicology that emphasizes tra
nslational and comparative approaches\, as well as the development and app
lication of 3R (Replacement\, Reduction\, Refinement) methods. The symposi
um brings together researchers\, clinicians\, veterinarians\, and toxicolo
gists to discuss advances in drug safety\, toxicology\, new methodologies\
, and regulatory aspects in animal health.&nbsp\;The 34th VETPHARM Symposi
um program ↗ includes multiple thematic sessions. Highlights relevant to
PARC include:&nbsp\;CNS pharmacology talks and a session on 3R in pain re
search A session focused on mutagenesis and cancer in veterinary speciesA
dedicated “3R in vitro” sessionRegulatory/pharmacovigilance presentati
on slots&nbsp\;Among many high-level contributions\, one PARC talk is sche
duled as part of the 3R in vitro session.&nbsp\;Cody Adams-Niedergeses ↗
(University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover ↗\, Germany) will present a
communication titled “PeriMyelinTox: Development of a Human Stem Cell-B
ased Demyelination Assay”. This presentation highlights PARC’s ongoing
work in developing human-relevant in vitro assays and aligns with efforts
to reduce animal use in neurotoxicity assessment.
