DESCRIPTION:The Burden of Risk Factors Summer School will take place from 1
 9–21 August 2026 in Ghent\, Belgium. The course is designed to equip par
 ticipants with the methodological knowledge and practical skills needed to
  assess the burden attributable to risk factors and to evaluate their impa
 ct on population health. Through lectures\, hands-on exercises\, and appli
 ed case studies\, participants will learn how burden of disease approaches
  can be used to quantify the health impact of behavioural\, environmental\
 , and other risk factors\, supporting evidence-based public health decisio
 n-making.Target audienceThis summer school is particularly relevant for pu
 blic health professionals\, epidemiologists\, researchers\, risk assessors
 \, health data scientists\, policy professionals\, and postgraduate studen
 ts interested in population health measurement\, prevention strategies\, a
 nd evidence-informed public health policy. A basic understanding of epidem
 iology is recommended. Teaching is conducted in English and participants s
