DESCRIPTION:As part of the Webinar Series on Risk Communication\, PARC will
  host a webinar on Building Trust through Transparency which will take pla
 ce online\, via TEAMS on 10 September 2026\, from 10:00 to 11:00 CET. The 
 session will be led by Christina Rolfheim-Bye ↗\, Communication Director
  at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health ↗.What to expect:Focusing o
 n the role of transparency in public health risk communication\, this webi
 nar will examine how trust in public health authorities may depend on tran
 sparency - including when it may hurt. It will discuss the importance of b
 eing transparent about uncertainties\, explaining why recommendations chan
 ge\, and openly acknowledging the scientific disagreements that may arise.
  Participants will also explore when transparency is especially challengin
 g and how risk communicators can respond when scientific evidence prompts 
 them to communicate a lower level of risk than that perceived by the publi
 c\, interest groups or the media.By the end of the session\, participants 
 will be able to:Understand why trust is best built before\, rather than du
 ring\, a crisis\;Recognise the importance of listening to the public as a 
 core element of effective risk communication\;Reflect on the resources and
  organisational commitment required to implement effective and trustworthy
  risk communication.Who should attend:This webinar is open to a wide range
  of stakeholders\, including PARC partners and members of National Hubs\, 
 as well as professionals involved in public health\, environmental and che
 mical risk assessment\, risk management\, and science communication. It wi
