53rd European Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society Congress: Safeguarding Genomic Integrity
The 53rd European Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society (EEMGS) Congress, will take place from 2 to 5 June 2025 in Bratislava, Slovakia. The congress aims to provide a platform for scientists, researchers, and professionals to exchange knowledge, present research, and discuss the latest developments in environmental mutagenesis and genomics. A special satellite workshop organized by the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI ↗) will precede the congress.
The scientific programme will cover a range of topics, including environmental genomics and DNA repair mechanisms, molecular pathways of carcinogenesis, chemical mutagenesis and public health implications, epigenetics and environmental factors, advancements in genotoxicity testing methods, and policy considerations related to environmental mutagens. PARC will contribute to the scientific programme with the following presentations on hazard assessment:
- Development of a Detailed Review Paper and a Retrospective Performance Analysis for the in vitro gH2AX/pH3 Method Presented by Marc Audebert ↗ (National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment ↗, France)
- Cellular Responses to Oxidative Stress-Inducing Chemicals in HepG2 Spheroids: Effects on Viability, Proliferation, and Genotoxicity Presented by Tim Ravnjak ↗ (National Institute of Biology, Slovenia)
- Validation of 3D Mammoaggregates as an Alternative Model to Study Non-Genotoxic Carcinogens and Interlaboratory Validation of the Cell Transformation Assay (CTA) for Carcinogenic Assessment of BPA Alternatives Both presented by Naouale El Yamani ↗ (The Climate and Environmental Research Institute NILU ↗, Norway)
The EEMGS 2025 Congress offers a valuable opportunity for professionals in the field of environmental mutagenesis and genomics to engage with the latest research and developments. PARC encourages interested parties to participate in this event to contribute to discussions on genomic integrity and public health.
