The 13th International Symposium on Biological Monitoring will be held in Milan, Italy between 9-12 September 2025.

Attendees can look forward to cutting-edge sessions on topics such as analytical chemistry in biological monitoring, emerging biomarkers, biological limit values, major EU and international studies, and innovations in biomonitoring integrated with omics sciences.

PARC partners will also contribute to the event:

  • PFAS mixture risk assessment based on European human biomonitoring surveys and internal relative potency factors Presented by Bas Bokkers from National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), Netherlands
  • The Identification of occupationally exposed groups using general population HBM data – Results from the PARC project Presented by Simo Porras from Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (TTL), Finland
  • Health concerns of urinary cadmium in the French population: identifying exposure drivers and prioritizing action levers Presented by Clément Blassiau from French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), France
  • Results and experiences on effect biomarkers in HBM4EU and PARC occupational studies – what recommendations can be given? Presented by Kukka Aimonen from Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (TTL), Finland
  • HBM4EU Aligned Studies – Results from the additional analyses made within PARC Presented by Eva Govarts from VITO, Belgium
  • FAIR Data Made Easy: VITO's HBM Data Services Platform Presented by Liese Gilles from VITO, Belgium
  • Occupational exposure to potentially toxic substances in waste recycling facilities in Greece: A biomonitoring and environmental assessment study Presented by Alkistis Kevrekidou
  • Development of human biomonitoring guidance values (HBM-GVs) for health-related interpretation of public and occupational exposure Presented by Petra Apel (UBA, Germany)
  • Human biomonitoring activities within PARC – how PARC continues the work of HBM4EU? Presented by Marike Kolossa-Gehring (UBA, Germany)
  • Innovative suspect and non-targeted screening approaches as a support to human biomonitoring: from research results and promises to regulatory expectations Presented by Jean-Philippe Antignac (INRAE, France)
