Quantitative Exposure Assessment in Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology
The course on Quantitative Exposure Assessment in Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology will take place from 26 to 31 October 2025 at Sønderborg, Denmark. This course is designed to equip the participants to critically appraise relevant literature and conduct basic exposure assessments independently. The programme includes interactive lectures, group exercises, and participant presentations. The course will be conducted in English. Emphasis will be placed on both the theoretical understanding and practical application of concepts related to exposure and its variability, including the theory of bias and random error, to enable participants to assess exposure variability, understand and apply Job Exposure Matrices, and critically evaluate the use and implications of different exposure metrics.
Who should attend
This course is intended for PhD students and postgraduate research fellows in epidemiology, occupational or environmental health, and related fields. Applicants must hold a university degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing, or a Master's degree in another relevant discipline, and/or be postgraduate research fellows. Familiarity with logistic and linear regression, as well as practical experience using STATA or R, is expected.
