Adverse Outcome Pathways – principles and applications
PARC is organising an in-person training course on Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) – principles and applications, with a focus on the development, assessment and use of AOPs in toxicological research and risk assessment. The course will take place from 3 to 7 November 2025 at the prestigious Karolinska Institutet, Campus Solna, Stockholm, Sweden, under the scientific coordination of the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM), Karolinska Institutet ↗.
What to expect:
- An introduction to the concept and principles of AOPs
- Insights into the development and assessment of AOPs, including quantitative approaches and AOP networks
- Practical applications of AOPs in toxicology and chemical risk assessment
- Exercises, group assignments, and interactive learning to consolidate knowledge
Who should attend:
The course is designed for PhD students, researchers and professionals from regulatory bodies who benefit from understanding the principles and applications of AOPs for their work in PARC or other research or risk assessment activities. Participants should have a basic background in toxicology or related disciplines, and a general understanding of current principles in risk assessment schemes.
Practical details:
This course is open to both PARC members and non-members, although priority will be given to participants affiliated with PARC. There is no registration fee, but participants are expected to cover their own travel, accommodation and other personal expenses.
