PARC is organising an in-person training course on Health risk assessment of chemicals – principles and applications. The course will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, from 18 to 22 November 2024. The scientific coordination is provided by the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.

What to expect:

  • Recognize the basic concepts and different steps in risk assessment.
  • Develop know-how on the use and integration of different types of data used in risk assessment, at the same time you learn how to assess their relevance and reliability.
  • Learn how to derive health-based guidance values and margins of safety.
  • Understand the role of risk assessment in regulatory decision making.

Who should attend:

The training course is addressed to PhD students and researchers, as well as participants from authorities who benefit from understanding the principles and applications of health risk assessment of chemicals for their work in PARC or for other research or risk assessment activities. 

Practical details:

This course is open for both PARC members and non-members, although priority will be given to PARC members. There are no registration fees; however, participants are expected to cover their own travel, accommodation, and any other incidental expenses.
