The Advanced Statistics: Statistical Modelling course will take place in person from 1 to 4 September 2025 at the University of Lausanne. Participants will explore advanced statistical models and techniques such as generalised linear models, mixed-effects models for longitudinal data, and non-linear approaches including splines, polynomial regression, and generalised additive models. The course will conclude with a focus on model performance, regularisation, and cross-validation methods.  Emphasis will be placed on applying these methods to real-world biological and clinical datasets using R. 

Target audience
This course is aimed at life sciences professionals who already have working knowledge of R and basic statistics, including hypothesis testing, correlation, and linear models. Participants are required to bring their own laptops with R version 4.5.0 and RStudio 2025.05.1-513 pre-installed.
