The Advanced Course on Experimental Design and Analysis of Multivariate Data (EDAMD) will take place in person from 23 to 27 February 2026, hosted by the University of Aveiro. The course will combine theoretical and practical sessions in a problem-solving format. Participants will be introduced to key concepts in multivariate data analysis and experimental design, using PRIMER v7 with PERMANOVA+ software. Real datasets and interactive case studies will allow attendees to apply clustering, ordination, and hypothesis testing techniques and explore experimental design approaches suitable for complex biological data.

Target audience
This course is primarily intended for PhD students, but will also welcome technicians, researchers, and lecturers interested in strengthening their skills in multivariate data analysis. Participants will gain hands-on experience with specialised software and practical knowledge applicable to their own datasets.
