In silico models and read-across
PARC organised a remote training course on In Silico Models and Read-Across, which took place from 3 to 4 March 2025 under the scientific coordination of the Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri (IRFMN), Italy. The program introduced participants to the principles, applications, and limitations of in silico models, with a focus on the VEGAHUB platform.
Training Content
• Introduction to in silico models: relevance, advantages, and limitations
• Data processing, chemical descriptors, algorithms, validation, and applicability domains
• Exploration of read-across tools and integration of results from in silico models
• Interpretation of outputs and critical assessment of reliability
• Hands-on exercises and case studies using VEGAHUB
Target audience
The course was designed for beginner-level risk assessors and researchers seeking to expand their skills.
Practical details
The two-day online course was free of charge and open to both PARC members and non-members, with priority given to PARC participants.
