Join the IISPV team as a PhD candidate in bioinformatics
We are looking for two PhD candidates to join the Insilico Vida Lab at the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Pere Virgili (IISPV), based in Tarragona, Spain.
The positions are part of a cutting-edge research initiative focused on environmental health risk assessment, predictive modeling, and bioinformatics. Selected candidates will contribute to high-impact EU-funded projects such as PARC, ENVESOME, and MERLON.
This is a opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment, applying machine learning, QSAR, PBPK modeling, and OMICS data analysis to real-world health challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing QSAR models to predict biological activity and toxicity;
- Designing PBPK models using experimental and in silico data;
- Applying ML techniques to PBPK and OMICS datasets;
- Analyzing large-scale biological data in the context of regulatory science.
We’re looking for candidates with:
- A Master’s degree in bioinformatics, pharmacy, data science, or a related field;
- Strong programming skills (R, Python, or similar);
- Experience in one or more areas: ML, QSAR, PBPK, or OMICS;
- A collaborative mindset and a strong interest in environmental health research.
A full-time PhD contract will be offered, with flexible start dates, access to advanced computing infrastructure, international collaborations, and opportunities to attend conferences and workshops.
