The Winter School in Clinical Epidemiology took place in Hall in Tirol from 12 to 16 February 2024 as a five-day certified university course. The program introduced participants to the fundamental concepts and methods of public health and epidemiology, including measures of disease frequency, study designs, bias, and causal inference. It also addressed risk and treatment prognosis, treatment efficacy and safety, diagnostic studies, and decision analysis in public health and medicine. Participants engaged with topics such as randomised clinical trials, cohort and case-control studies, Kaplan-Meier curves, Cox-regression models, and cost-effectiveness analysis.

The course was designed for members of healthcare and health policy organisations, national HTA agencies, the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, academia and research institutions, health insurances and sickness funds, and consultancy organisations.
