The Introduction to Health Technology Assessment and Health Economics course will take place online from 25 to 27 January 2027. This introductory course will combine lectures, discussions, case studies, and group exercises to introduce key principles and methods in Health Economics (HE), Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and Health Decision Science. Participants will explore the assessment of health outcomes, resource use and costs, cost-effectiveness and other forms of economic evaluation, budget impact analysis, and the use of real-world evidence. The course will also introduce decision-analytic modelling approaches, methods for assessing uncertainty, and the role of economic evidence in pricing and reimbursement decisions. Additional topics will include critical appraisal, good-practice guidelines for economic evaluation, and the application of HTA and Health Economics from different stakeholder perspectives.
