The online course Advanced Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis was held from 23 to 25 May 2024. The program introduced participants to advanced methods for conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses, with a focus on both frequentist and Bayesian approaches. Participants explored techniques to investigate heterogeneity, methods for diagnostic accuracy and network meta-analysis, and the role of meta-analysis in clinical guideline development, health technology assessment, and decision making. The course combined lectures, hands-on tutorials, and computer-based exercises to ensure an interactive and practical learning experience.

Target audience
The course was designed for health professionals, scientists, consultants, and students at PhD, Master, or medical level with an interest in flexible approaches to data analysis and visualization. A basic knowledge of introductory statistics and prior exposure to statistical software were expected. The course was open to both native and non-native English speakers.
