Scientific Reporting and Writing
The Scientific Reporting and Writing course was held online from 3 to 5 April 2024. The program combined a three-day synchronous videoconference with asynchronous online exercises, addressing the main challenges of professional scientific reporting, writing, and presenting. Participants prepared by submitting their own abstracts and manuscript parts on an online platform and received personalized feedback from peers and faculty. During the course, interactive lectures provided guidance on general writing principles, while practical exercises focused on key elements of manuscript preparation, common pitfalls for non-native speakers, and effective presentation of scientific work.
Target audience
The course was particularly suited for PhD, medical, and Master’s students, researchers and lecturers in medicine and the health and life sciences, junior and senior investigators, scientific working group leaders, and scientists from universities, healthcare and policy organisations, HTA agencies, industry, patient representatives, and medical writers. It was also relevant for members of funding agencies as well as reviewers and evaluators. The course was open to both native and non-native English speakers and required no prerequisites.
