4th PARC Stakeholder Forum

Recap of PARC’s ongoing research projects and sustainability: stakeholders welcome progress and early results

The Fourth PARC Stakeholder Forum meeting was held in Brussels, Belgium. The event took place in October and was productive and highly engaging, placing Stakeholder Forum members at the centre of discussions on PARC’s ongoing research projects, current engagement activities on PARCopedia, and progress on indicators that will be used to monitor the success of the Partnership.

During the meeting, the PARC exit strategy was presented, outlining how research outcomes, data, and policy-relevant insights will be sustained and integrated into policy governance beyond the project’s conclusion in 2027. Participants welcomed this strategic clarity and emphasised the importance of continuity, transparency, and long-term impact.

The PARC website continues to provide up-to-date information on research progress, and the meeting featured dedicated sessions on clustered research projects, including:

  • Screening methods to assess occupational exposure to chemicals of emerging concern;
  • Exposure through food, exploring pathways and harmonisation opportunities;
  • Harmonised approaches in chemical risk assessment, including how New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) can reduce animal testing in endocrine disruption assessment.

All 15 members of the Stakeholder Forum, representing industry, NGOs, and other associations, actively contributed to the discussions. They reiterated key needs, particularly:

  • Access to results that are ready to use and fit for regulatory decision-making;
  • Further development and uptake of NAMs;
  • Availability of high-quality, reliable exposure data;
  • Improved transparency and communication on progress and expectations.

The meeting reinforced PARC’s commitment to co-creation, dialogue, and responsiveness, ensuring that stakeholders remain closely involved as the Partnership advances towards its long-term goals.
