As part of PARC’s efforts to strengthen research capacity and foster collaboration across partner institutions, the NOVA National School of Public Health (Av. Padre Cruz, 1600-407 Lisboa, Portugal) is offering a staff exchange opportunity under the supervision of Prof. Susana Viegas.

This mobility opportunity is offered for a duration of 6 to 12 months (January–December 2027) and is intended for researchers who hold a PhD or are in the final stages of their PhD with a background in Environmental Health, Public Health, Toxicology, Chemistry, or related disciplines. 

During the placement, participants will have the opportunity to:

• Gain hands-on experience in occupational and environmental biomonitoring campaigns, exposure monitoring, and the application of regulatory approaches relevant to public and environmental health;
• Develop practical expertise in occupational and environmental health, toxicology, exposure and risk assessment, and disease prevention, while strengthening technical and research competencies through interdisciplinary collaboration;
• Enhance their understanding of how scientific evidence supports workplace safety, environmental protection, and public health, while contributing to knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the sharing of best practices across the PARC partnership.

The NOVA National School of Public Health provides a multidisciplinary research environment with recognised expertise in occupational and environmental health, exposure and risk assessment, toxicology, environmental determinants of health, indoor air quality, climate change impact on public health, and burden of disease. In addition to its involvement in PARC, the team participates in several international research projects, including INTERCAMBIO, NEMESIS, EXPOSIM, and K-HealthinAir. This exchange offers a valuable opportunity to enhance research skills, exchange knowledge and best practices, and expand professional networks while contributing to collaborative research within the PARC partnership.
