Highlights from the Second Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) Boot Camp
The Second Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) Boot Camp, coordinated by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki ↗ (AUTH), was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, between 22-25 October 2024. The event brought together 67 participants from 21 countries, including researchers, students, and professionals from industry and SMEs, to explore the core concepts and assessment methods of the SSbD framework.
This intensive training program covered hazard assessment, exposure assessment, risk assessment, and sustainability assessment. Participants had the chance to gain hands-on experience with the PARC SSbD toolbox, currently in its initial testing phase. The boot camp blended theoretical instruction with practical sessions, including case study demonstrations, enabling attendees to apply SSbD principles throughout the innovation process.
Trainees showcased their projects, fostering a collaborative learning environment. The positive feedback underscores the value of this training, reflecting a growing demand for expertise in SSbD tools.
