Introduction

The successful implementation of SSbD in the innovation process requires more than technical guidelines, it requires a high level of acceptance. Therefore, raising awareness and promoting education on safety and sustainability are critical to achieve widespread acceptance and adoption of SSbD principles.

To support this, PARC is committed to provide education and training materials that equip researchers involved in innovation, industry professionals, regulators and other stakeholders with the latest knowledge and best practices in SSbD for chemicals, materials and products. By integrating SSbD education into their fields of study, future innovators can develop the skills and attitudes necessary to drive meaningful change within the industry.  

As part of the PARC training repository, a dedicated repository has been developed to collect and organise available training and education materials related to SSbD. This respository is designed to assist industry, academia and regulators in the effective application and evaluation of SSbD principles. An easy-to-use selection tool allows users to find educational content tailored to their needs.

PARC has not been involved in developing or assessing the content of the material nor does inclusion of the material in this tool suggest anything about PARC's approval of them.  

Selection criteria

Training and education material with relevance for SSbD was collected based on general selection criteria: public availability, relevant to chemicals including advanced (nano)materials, clarity, links to (parts of) safety, sustainability, Safe by Design, Sustainable by Design, sustainable chemistry, green chemistry, circular economy.  

Please note that this repository on SSbD includes various types of educational material.
